The Three Pillars of Lost Deities Legend states that long ago, the founding ancestors of the Twelve Houses challenged three Gods; Reimei of the Dawn, Di of the Day, and Yabun of the Night. Although the three Deities did not wish to comply, and refused the challenges, they succumbed to the treachery of a thirteenth warrior, known now only as Neko. As punishment for their fall from grace, the Three Deities were transformed into three stone pillars.
The Three Pillars stand in the Central District, also known to Suiko citizens as "Hen Mannaka", and are often considered to be the most central point of Suiko. They come in the appearance as a triangle of three identical, twenty foot tall stone towers, made of an unidentifiable black stone. In the past, the Three Pillars were known as the "Imiishi", or "Taboo Stone", although recent times have earned them their new, modern name.
Mystery surrounds the Three Pillars, and many speculate that they are the source of the strange mysticism that surrounds Suiko City. While many, including powerful nations themselves, have tried to study and harness the Pillars for their own gain, the stone cannot be touched or moved; in fact, to even attempt to lay your hands upon the Pillars is considered bad luck, and tragedies often follow afterwards. As such, the stones are considered protectors, as well as overlords in the city, shrines to the long past Deities.
