Suiko City
and it's surrounding area
and it's surrounding area
A very large, very high tech metropolis of the modern era, although not without it's own little areas of peace and tradition, Suiko City is often considered to be a rival to Tokyo for it's size, population, and popularity. The city itself is split into five districts, all with their unique purpose, layout and citizens.Central District
The most central point of Suiko City, also referred to as "Hen Mannaka", this is where most of the metropolitan portions of the city are. High class shops, sky scrapers devout to thriving businessmen, areas of entertainment, the soul keys to infrastructure, and the center-piece of the Three Pillars remain here. Because it is such a high class, center area, the cost of living in Central District is astronomical, and only the rich may choose to live here; that is, unless you want to sleep in the streets themselves. The House Summit is also here, an area where members of the Twelve Houses meet and congregate for the decisions of Suiko.Hokubu District
A very traditional, natural area of Suiko City, one only needs to venture north of the Central District to find themselves journeying to the past. Homes are traditional, Japanese style, citizens are generally dark haired with eastern faces, and clothing is proper, feudal era stylized in Hokubu. In fact, if it were not for the backdrop of the huge buildings of Suiko, one may even believe they were in medieval Japan itself. Many farms and agriculture dot this area, as well as the natural landscape of Hokkaido begins to take over, with forests, lakes, and mountains. House Hebi, House Uma, House Tori, and House Tatsu usually make their homes here.
Azuma District
A modern, yet middle class area of Japan, Azuma District, also called the "Eastern Land" by Suiko residents, is the neighborhood that lies to the east of center Suiko. It is a generally residential area, with attractions such as homes, parks, grocery stores, and other peaceful living type structures. Because it retains the serenity of Hokubu, although lacks the strict cultural traditions of such, Azuma is usually where people choose to hold festivals, parties, and other get togethers of the family oriented nature, although it still retains more Japanese culture than the Western District. House Nezumi, House Usagi, House Inoshishi, and House Hitsuji usually make their homes here.
Western District
A heavily western influenced part of Suiko, even more so than the melting pot that is the Central District, the Western District was previously hunting and farmland for Suiko, known as Uesutan; however, when the foreigners appeared, they quickly began taking over the vulnerable land. Homes here are western influenced, as is entertainment, styles, and trends (western of course applying to anything west of Japan, which is everything). Most Japanese traditions and culture has diminished from the Western District, causing great resentment amongst the natives. The Houses devoted to Yabun used to reside here, although all but House Inu have moved to Lowtown; House Inu remains in the Western District, despite it having been taken over.
Lowtown
Once known as the Minami District, this area was a barren, plain land with very few residents; making it the ideal place for criminals to set up shop. Now, it is thriving with the most unsavory characters in all of Suiko, mixed in with the less wealthy residents as well, who haven't the means to escape. Efforts to fight this epidemic of crime have been put into place, although, like any city, it has become somewhat futile. Driven from their homes in Uesutan, House Tora, House Saru, and House Ushi have all taken residence in Lowtown, some falling in with the bad gangs themselves.
