[/u] The House of the Rat. The members of House Nezumi are generally passionate, gentle beings, filled with a sort of charm and ambition. They are also known as sneaky, for being somewhat manipulative and easily angered, while able to disguise this anger as passive aggressive. A prominent feature of House Nezumi is white hair, and they are common in the entertainment business. This House watches over the Shrine of Reimei.Known throughout Suiko City as de facto leaders, emissaries of the Japanese Government, the Twelve Houses are by blood descendents of the original Thirteen Warriors, with the exception of House Neko, of course. While over the past 1000 years the blood has been spread about and diluted through Suiko, it is still considered an honor to be born into one of the Twelve Houses and hold the surname.
The Twelve Houses, also known as "Clansmen", are considered royalty within the walls of Suiko. They are high end, generally wealthy families, and almost always have the last say over the affairs of the Suiko Government. Aside from this fact, they're set in stone 'role' is to watch over the Three Pillars, and assure no harm comes to the city, as designated by their long ago ancestors. In general surmise, they are the royalty of Suiko.
Each House comes bearing certain qualities that are unique to said house, aside from their defined surname. From physical appearance, to a common family business, lots of House oriented traits can easily distinguish a member of a House off presumptions. Of course, some exceptions do apply.
Each House has a Clan Leader, known as the Headman, who in past times was the eldest son of the previous Headman, a long running tradition. However, in recent ages, the Headman may or may not be female, as well as being elected as the most capable member of the Clan, rather than a direct lineage.
House Nezumi:
House Usagi:[/u] The House of the Rabbit. The members of House Usagi are generally talented, charming beings, with luxurious tastes and charming personalities. They are also known for being flighty and carefree, a trait looked down upon in Japanese culture. A prominent feature of House Usagi are red and dark brown eyes, and a large majority of their clan are socialites and playboys. This House watches over the Shrine of Reimei.
House Inoshishi:[/u] The House of the Boar. The members of House Inoshishi are generally affectionate, sweet beings, with an honest sense of bravery and optimism. They are revered for these charming, endearing traits, although they dislike fighting and attention, making them often mocked by combative Suiko citizens. A prominent feature of House Inoshishi is light blonde hair, and their Clan make excellent cooks and are often found in the food industry. This House watches over the Shrine of Reimei.
House Hitsuji:[/u] The House of the Sheep. The members of House Hitsuji are generally sensitive, elegant beings, carrying an eye for arts and talent. They are also known for being very passionate to themselves, their family, and their religion, although they are somewhat cowardly and easily swayed. A prominent feature of House Hitsuji are gentle, effiminate appearances, and they are often loved in art forms such as theater, sculpting, and painting. This House watches over the Shrine of Reimei.
House Saru:[/u] The House of the Monkey. The members of House Saru are generally clever, smart beings, with their own sense of individuality in everything they do. They are also known for being playful and humorous, although this belies their sharp, genius level wit. A prominent feature of House Saru are bright, blue eyes, and the family owns their own set of Labs where they create new, innovative products. This House watches over the Shrine of Yabun.
House Ushi:[/u] The House of the Ox. The members of House Ushi are generally patient, hard working beings, with a leadership quality to them. They are also known for being very inspirational to those they lead, making them great politicians and bosses. A prominent feature of House Ushi is dark brown hair, and leadership positions in business and politics are their cup of tea. This House watches over the Shrine of Yabun.
House Tora:[/u] The House of the Tiger. The members of House Tora are generally stubborn, proud beings, with a brash courage to them unlike any other sign. They are known for being very impatient and fiery, making them both liked and disliked by Suiko citizens. A prominent feature of House Tora are large, muscular builds, and they enjoy sports and atheletics as their main business, as well as combat. This House watches over the Shrine of Yabun.
House Inu:[/u] The House of the Dog. The members of House Inu are generally loyal, driven beings, with a strong sense of confidence about them. They are revered for their loyalty, as well as their humble natures, a trait desired in Japanese Culture. A prominent feature of House Inu is darker colored gray or silver hair, and members are scattered throughout law enforcement and other protection oriented business. This House watches over the Shrine of Yabun.
House Hebi:[/u] The House of the Snake. The members of House Hebi are generally reserved, deep thinking being, with a passionate ambition to them. They are also known for their quiet, reserved natures, preferring silence over interaction. A prominent feature of House Hebi are green eyes, and they are common in literature, science, education, and other thought oriented professions. This House watches over the Shrine of Di.
House Uma:[/u] The House of the Horse. The members of House Uma are generally outgoing, charming beings, with a sense of honesty that only adds to their popularity. They are also known for their ill tempers, although they are very family oriented and talkative. A prominent feature of House Uma is light brown hair, and most of the family is groomed for traditional homemaking, most money coming from enterprises rather than work. This House watches over the Shrine of Di.
House Tori:[/u] The House of the Rooster. The members of House Tori are generally driven, hard-working beings, with a deep loyalty to tradition and history. They are revered as the peacekeepers of the history of Suiko, and indeed hold the greatest library and tomes under their watch. A prominent feature of House Tori is black hair, and most of the family watches over the legends of Suiko, although others venture into business and education. House Tatsu:[/u] The House of the Dragon. The members of House Tatsu are generally passionate, successful beings, with shining sense of perfection and luck pouring over themselves. They are also known as the most popular of the Houses, and the head leads over the other eleven. It is a unique house because members have two prominent features, either carrying both or one of either; bright red hair, and / or sharp golden eyes. There is no family business, as most of the House is concerned with leading the other Houses. This House watches over the Shrine of Di.
